Give me one reason to buy peanut butter from the supermarket? Exactly, there is none. You can make your own delicious butter without any added sugar, no palm oil, low in salt and without stabilisers. Your homemade peanut butter is made of natural ingredients only, for a rich and clean taste. And the great part is, it doesn’t matter on which team you’re on, crunchy or smooth, you decide what you want to make!

Peanuts are healthy fats

Cool fact about peanuts: The fats from the peanuts are monounsaturated (omega 9) and good for the heart and blood vessels. These fats lower the LDL cholesterol level in the blood. In addition to the healthy fats, peanuts contain vitamins E, B3, B9 and important proteins, including trypophan. Trypophan is needed in the body for the production of serotonin. Serotonin is an important neurotransmitter that is important for emotional well-being.

Ingredients

  • 500gr unroasted peanuts
  • 4 tea spoon oil (peanut oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, olive oil etc…)
  • Salt (you can choose the amount to your taste)

Recipe

  1. Put the peanuts, the oil and the salt in your food processor and let it run for about 5 minutes. First you’ll see your peanuts change is a kind of sandy paste. After a while it changes to a dough-like structure. Be a little bit more patient and finally, you will have made your own peanut butter!

If you like crunchy peanut putter, grind some extra peanuts and add them to your homemade butter.

Store your peanut butter in a well-sealed container. Homemade peanut butter has a shorter shelf life than purchased ones. A month is about the limit. Eating your peanut butter fresh is of course the tastiest! Do you want to keep it a little longer? Put it in the fridge, that will stretches the life with one week.
